About Frangeli House
Frangeli
A Brief History
Built in the early 2000s, the house was constructed by a local family for people to experience the charm of old Baguio. For them, this meant being surrounded by pine, willow, and paper trees, the smell of clean crisp mountain air, and the serenity you won’t find in a big city. Located just several minutes from the city center, the house is on Saint George Hill, looking towards Mt. Kabuyao and Mt. Sto. Tomas. Once a cattle grazing area in the early 1900s, the place has been transformed into a lush green space within a highly urbanized city.
The family also wanted to showcase the ingenuity and craftsmanship of Filipino artisans. This can be seen in the architecture, furniture, and artworks around the house — From the rose mouldings and the upcycled metal staircase made in Malabon to the stained-glass windows and pieces from Manila’s pioneer glass artists. Most of the furniture including the living room couches and table were made by a wood turning carpentry shop from Quezon City. The house also features art pieces by noted local artists such as John Frank Sabado, Leonard Aguilando, Jordan Mang-osan, and Shan Jose. On the second floor hangs “Balanghai”, a mixed media work by prominent Filipino artist, Rey Paz Contreras.
Today, Frangeli House is a family-run accommodation and events place that caters to any kind of occasion: from weddings to family or school reunions, as well as live-in seminars, workshops and company parties. We offer packages and customized rates depending on your event. We pride ourselves with excellent customer service, great food, and well-maintained amenities and gardens.
We are an eco and bird sanctuary being one of the few green spaces left in the city. We hope you will love the house, the gardens, and its creatures as much as we do!
